Introducing Teploy: Deploy Anything, Pay Almost Nothing

Today we're launching Teploy, a new deployment platform that gives you the simplicity of managed platforms with the cost savings of your own servers. Deploy to any VPS provider with git push simplicity.

We're excited to introduce Teploy, a deployment platform that brings together the best of both worlds: the simplicity of managed platforms like Vercel with the cost efficiency of self-hosted solutions.

The Problem with Modern Deployment

If you've ever scaled a project on a managed platform, you know the pain. What starts as a convenient $20/month hobby project quickly spirals into a $200+ bill as your traffic grows. You're paying premium prices for compute that costs a fraction of that on a VPS.

The alternative hasn't been great either. Self-hosting on a VPS means wrestling with Nginx configs, SSL certificates, deployment scripts, and the constant anxiety of "did I set everything up correctly?" It's a significant time investment that most developers would rather avoid.

We've been on both sides of this equation, and we built Teploy to solve it.

What is Teploy?

Teploy is a hosted dashboard that lets you:

  1. Provision servers on any major VPS provider (Vultr, Hetzner, DigitalOcean, Linode, and more) directly from your dashboard
  2. Deploy applications with a simple git push, just like Vercel or Railway
  3. Manage SSL certificates automatically via Let's Encrypt
  4. Configure custom domains with built-in Cloudflare integration
  5. Monitor your apps with real-time logs and metrics

All without managing your own control plane or installing anything locally.

How It Works

When you create a project on Teploy, here's what happens behind the scenes:

  1. You connect your VPS provider credentials (stored encrypted, of course)
  2. You pick a server size and region that fits your needs
  3. Teploy provisions the server and installs our lightweight agent
  4. You connect your GitHub repository
  5. Push to your main branch, and Teploy handles the rest

The agent running on your server communicates with our control plane over a secure WebSocket connection. When you push code, we detect the framework, build your app (using Nixpacks or your Dockerfile), and deploy it with zero downtime.

Real Cost Savings

Let's look at a concrete example. Say you're running a Next.js app that gets 100,000 pageviews per month:

Built on Proven Technology

Teploy isn't built from scratch. Our deployment pipeline uses battle-tested tools:

  • Nixpacks for automatic build detection (the same technology Railway uses)
  • Docker for containerization and isolation
  • Traefik for routing and SSL termination
  • Let's Encrypt for free, automatic SSL certificates

We've taken inspiration from excellent open-source projects like Dokploy and Coolify, adding our own multi-tenant layer and VPS provider integrations on top.

Security First

Your infrastructure credentials are sensitive, and we treat them that way:

  • All API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256
  • Agent-to-control-plane communication uses TLS
  • We never store your application code—builds happen on your servers
  • Role-based access control for team management
  • Audit logs for all operations
